About Twins Wood Works

A family business, and the carpenter whose name is on it.

I’m Esaú Bejarano Williams. Twins Wood Works is my company, based in Silt, and eleven years of my carpentry is in these mountains — most of it in Eagle and Garfield County.

When you call this number, you get me. Not a call center, not a dispatcher, and not a company that hands your job down a chain until whoever shows up is three people removed from the price you agreed to.

  • 11 years in these mountains

Why I started this

For most of my career I was the last man on a chain I couldn’t see the top of.

A homeowner would hire a company. That company would hire another one. Somewhere down the line, somebody called me and I did the work. The homeowner paid one number. By the time it reached me, it was a fraction of it — and I was three people removed from the person whose house it was.

That arrangement is bad for everybody except the middle. The owner pays for layers instead of carpentry. The carpenter gets squeezed on time and on price, and the first thing that goes is the part nobody sees: the flashing, the depth of the hole, the few days the wood should have been sitting in the house before it got cut.

So I stopped taking those jobs and started taking my own. That’s the entire reason Twins Wood Works exists.

It means I’m smaller than the companies you’ll find advertising from Denver. It also means the person who quotes your job, the person who does it, and the person you call when you have a question are all the same person.

And it means I can afford to tell you the truth — including when the truth is that you don’t need me yet.

What that means when you hire me

Four things I can promise because of how I work

  • I come look, free

On site, in person, no charge, and nothing owed afterward. I get under it and behind it, because that’s where the answer usually is — not on the surface where you already looked.

  • I’ll talk you out of a job

If it’s a repair and not a replacement, I’ll say so. If it doesn’t need anything yet, I’ll say that too. I’ve walked away from work I could have taken, and I’d rather you call me in three years than regret calling me now.

  • I tell you what I don’t do

Cabinets and doors, no. Vinyl, chain link and ornamental iron, no. You’ll hear that on the phone instead of finding it out halfway through.

  • A real date, not a fast one

Not knowing when somebody will show up is the most common complaint people have about this trade. I’d rather give you a date I can keep than the one you want to hear.

“I tell people what works for them and what doesn’t, and nothing else. If I can’t do the job right, I’ll say so and tell you to find someone who can.”

From a customer

★★★★★

“Esaú completed a deck remodel for us and provided a reliable timeline for the project’s completion. The deck exceeded our expectations; he listened to our request, incorporated the details we wanted, and paid close attention to everything we envisioned. Everyone compliments its beauty, and we are thrilled we chose him for our remodel. Thank you, Esaú!!”

“A reliable timeline.” Of everything in that review, that’s the line I’m proudest of. Cherie recorded this on her own phone after her deck was done.

The work

Six things, all of them in wood

I build and repair decks, replace windows, build and fix wood and ranch fence, repair and replace wood siding, and do the trim and finish work inside. Some of it is a full build. A lot more of it is a repair that somebody was told had to be a replacement.

Wood is what I know, and I’d rather be the carpenter you call for six things you trust me with than the company that claims twenty.
